Pattern Linking - Part 1 of 3
Much of SEO blends together to make a pattern. What I present to you is a way to expand the ranking patterns of your sites. The logic of this is based on the fact that all numbers are patterns. When analyzing KW, the process I use relates specifically to word patterns.
So, if My KW set for a section of my site is “First Time Home Buyers” I have 4 distinctive words:
First
Time
Home
Buyers
This is where KW density plays a huge roll. A single KW phrase has a wider use, thus a higher natural density, than a two-word phrase does to a three-word phrase to a four-word phrase etc. The more words in a single pattern, the more variations are available. Mathematics. Excessive repetition in a single patter Vs. the total variations available to a pattern, is dangerous and unnatural. This is where your application of Pattern optimization protects your from spamming a single phrase, which frankly is not necessary and can result in a site being penalized, while maintaining topical relevance. Worse, you do your rankings a huge disservice.
Using patterns has a much, much greater benefits to your SEO, SEM and KW optimization than spamming ever will.
These words can be used in a wide range or combinations and branch off into related relevant patterns. When researching your industry of choice, you and I know that there is always a clear-cut traffic winner. Your starting point. The top KW. Usually this should be your kw phrase of choice. When you begin breaking this KW of choice down, you will come up with a Long List of related searches for this nice traffic phrase that contain versions of your primary target Word. These branches, in many instances, will break down even further. Search Patterns. How many ways you combine those related words together, in pattern, within your content has a role in how you will rank for those phrases. But…. that is not all.
Your more important (competitive) relevant related patterns should be combined, not in repetition, but in use, in a pattern. For Example, I want to rank well for “Mortgage” (doesn’t everyone?) and for “Home Loans”. Both have separate trees. Both are extremely competitive in search. Important Branches of this target pattern are Home Loans, Mortgage Loans, and Mortgage Lender. Yes, they get extensive in the manner they tree out. But we’ll stick with this small sample as an example……
