My 4 small niche websites have served over 2.1 million visitors and over 12 million page views over the past 4 years. Had I not moved to dedicated servers and kept the site records, traffic and page view numbers would be even higher still. My sites are true niche websites that drive search traffic every month to the tune of tens and tens of thousands of search terms. All this without one DMOZ listing – who needs DMOZ anyway, not you, not me! By the way, never, ever, piss off a senior DMOZ.org editor..lol
I have kept quite while turning down interviews because I like my privacy, and hate self-promotion. I came up with RandFish before he was Rand Fishkin of SEOMoz fame (Yeah, nothing like a little name dropping….). Rand and I were both in the top 5 in reputation in a very large and popular forum before we both left.
The fact is, I have a high school education, so clearly I am not the most well spoken individual. Regardless, right now I don’t have to get out of bed, much less run this company, to make money. This is not a brag, it’s simply a fact – makes a point – and is exactly what I did before I started SEO King, Inc. – fish, watch movies, hang out in the forums helping people, sleep in, collect money, have fun….sigh… those were the days. Now we have customers, projects, lots of work and hardly any time for fun or personal projects….lol
Mom always said be careful what you ask for…
If you’re not following my blog right now, and especially my series on “creating a successful Internet company from scratch”, you either already know how, or you’re not ready to succeed. My goal is to build you a very solid and realistic roadmap to developing a successful online brand/website. A guide any long-term thinker can really use to make money. It won’t be an overnight process, just due to everything else I have going on. However, it will be as thorough as is reasonable, very educational and actually can be repeated no matter the market.
Opportunity starts with what you do to create it.
This blog is the only place I will be teaching some really good stuff in basic terms most anyone with web knowledge can understand – For Free. So don’t expect to see me back in a forum anytime soon trying to get truth through a pipeline full of the usual junk you find.
This year my 4 personal web assets (not counting my corporate SEO King, Inc. site and blog) are on pace to serve right at 700K plus searchers. Though another year of increase, I’m not satisfied with that – especially with this economy.
This year, I plan on counting my main SEO King, Inc. corporate site and blog in the totals! This means marketing – see my Blog activity….lol My programmer will be coding up some good custom tracking stuff to establish a running count across 5 sites and one blog. So by the end of March sometime, everyone that visits will have a really good idea as we move through the year whether I’ll be hitting my projected target, much less my target goal of 1 million visitors.
