Don’t be a victim. No matter how tempting it may sound when the false promises are laid out on the table by an SEO scammer, the truth remains the same—SEO con artists are par for the course out there…and they’re downright excellent at getting website owners to fall for their baseless, yet hope inspiring deceptions. The first thing you can do to protect yourself from SEO scammers—and to separate the good guys from the bad—is to understand the tactics that the scammers like to use. Here are 5 things you’ll learn from an SEO scammer (all false, of course): One – We’ll Get You The Number One Positioned Listing On Google. Sounds great. If only it was actually this easy! Without going into every last detail of why legit SEO providers simply never promise specific number one Google rankings, it’s important to know that number one is in most cases unrealistic (and impossible to guarantee). Two – Your Existing Site Is Terrible When It Comes To SEO. All the scammers like to promote this notion—and of course, they’ll be happy to help you “fix” the problem too. Thing is, I’ve seen this used by SEO scammers when sites actually are [...]

A few weeks ago, the web design and SEO community was totally abuzz about Google’s latest search engine update. Specifically, the search engine now instantly updates the search engine results page (SERP) instantly as a user types in their search query. Each letter typed refines and refreshes the search results displayed. Sidenote: If you’re saying to yourself, “yeah…but they’ve been doing that for years,” please note that the Google Instant Search is different than how it worked before. Until recently, with each letter of a search query typed into the search box, the search engine made suggestions based on what was typed—but it still required the human user to press “Search,” select the result presented, or click Enter in order to display the actual search results on the page. This is what’s changed—again, the results dynamically display and refresh in real time now with each letter typed. If you haven’t tried this out yet, give it a spin…it’s actually really cool. So anyway, as you can imagine (and as with any change to how the search engine works), most of the SEO community started a mass state of panic. All of the sudden, the way they all optimized and created [...]

You’ve heard the term SEO—search engine optimization—but what in the world does it really mean, anyway? And how is it different than internet marketing? Well, it’s actually simple…SEO is the use of techniques that help to optimize the results of searches done online. SEO is just one way of doing internet marketing. The term internet marketing encompasses SEO and many more marketing techniques. While SEO is extremely important, it isn’t the entire story when it comes to getting your website noticed. If you have an online business, it’s important to create a marketing plan. Many people think they need a large budget to make a marketing plan, but that isn’t always true. Many internet marketing strategies are affordable and easy to do. Website marketing is the best way to bring traffic to your site and to generate sales.
